BETTER THAN GOBILTY-GOOK

We can be sons/daughters of God in name or in reality. We can labels ourselves as of the Body yet not be one with Christ from the incarnation. Our inheritance – the amazing riches that Paul speaks of are our union with God in Jesus.

WHEN LIFE BEGINS
‘On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you’ John 14.20 NIV. This is the day we are born into Christ’s Life.

We can live a lesser life as Christian if we have been sold a defective gospel. Bent gospels deforming sincere Christians robs Christ and make us wooden. You will never be a dead tree living Christ your life.

WRONG CHRIST/WRONG SELF
Leanne Payne writes, “Until this redeemed self is acknowledged and accepted, we live out of the immature, unaffirmed self, and we cannot hear God aright. From that center, we also “mishear” our fellows, and they become the target of the diseased “matter” that yet resides within our souls—that is, our fears of rejection, our bitterness, envy, anger, and sense of inferiority. These invariably project themselves into the minds and hearts of those we love the most, piercing them like deadly arrows.

Until we accept the new self, we are dangerous to ourselves and to others; even though we are Christians.” The truth is that the new and real self is you in Christ. (1A)

SUB-CHRISTIANITY
Watchman Nee coined the term sub-Christian. It’s non-Kingdom Christianity. Sub-Christian communities believe in Christ you must earn and often believe in an atonement that you have to finish off yourself. Kingdom Communities flourish in a completed at-one-ment and the certainty that they are included in the Companionship of God.

GIFT NOT CONTRACT
Some of the most active Christians are not alive in their spirit.
If you have been raised in a gospel of transaction – of contract in which ‘you do this in the hope that God will do that’ - you will probably be puzzled by the real Gospel of Christ our life. It will be unlikely that in that mode, you live in real joy, peace and the certainty of eternal life. You may exist but you are not alive. Your inheritance is not something that you have entitled yourself to. Your treasure is the inclusion in God that is already yours in Jesus Christ. Your belonging is in Christ and His Life.

INIQUITY GOSPELS
There are some gospels that are so twisted that presentations of the Real Gospel are regarded by those steeped in them with suspicion. You see it in their eyes. This is particularly so with semi-cults and sects, but can also be the case in decayed gospels based on myths of ‘entitlement.’ Entitled politics in Government and Religion resorts to prevarication, rationalisation and denial as a matter of policy. The political spirit is the wife of the religious spirit.

SONSHIP
We become sons of God in the person of Jesus Christ. To live, move and have our being in Christ is to have our being in the Being of God. Christ is all and in all not only cosmically but personally. We are never sons in spirit and in truth in the law because the law is a disconnected state of being. A half life in which we are in separated Adam. In Christ our life we are one with God in the oneness Jesus has with the other members of the trinity. Beware of law-based gospels that are a compilation of fanciful strictures and pedantic gobbltygook.

FALL ENDED
To live in Jesus is to be one with Him. Not to be one with His religion. The Kingdom He began is not religious. It’s union with God. The fully accomplished at-one-ment embraces us in the incarnation. To be sons we need to understand the difference between religion and life. As a son/daughter you are already included in His life. Christ earned this. Not you.

TRINITY IN YOU AND WITH YOU
Incarnation is what the disciples saw on the Mount of Transfiguration. Incarnation is that which is ours because we agree with Christ that He is our life. Incarnation is Christ come in our flesh. This is the new and living way in which we are sons in spirit and in truth. We can claim sonship by proof text but oneness with God does not occur as a result of ‘the letter’. There is no spirit and life in the law. Oneness is ours because oneness is ours in Jesus.

APOSTLE’S DOCTRINE
There is one Gospel of the Kingdom as taught by Jesus and the apostles. Never be impervious to the fact that your gospel might not be Christ’s Gospel and that you can’t just make one up because you are a Christian.

SCARECROWS
Legalism produces parodies of personhood. The hollow men of T S Eliot. Or the monkeys in lions’ clothes of C.S Lewis. ‘The letter’ can make us blind guides, effete pietists and suffocate people with delusions of holiness.

SCARCITY GOSPEL
Perhaps the worst illusion of the letter is that it continually offers us false messiahs and false grace – all products of the self-made self. Grace is not a means of coping with the law. Grace is Christs life as our life. Our inheritance is nothing so niggardly as a way to keep the law. It’s the living way in which you become the manifestation of God – a daughter or a son.

BE A PERSON
“Because Jesus Christ is the only true human, he is the true image of God, and so only in Christ can the human creature be fully a person.  The movement within the salvation of men and women is from human being, a biological fact, to human person, a moral, theological fact. Anything outside of Christ falls short of true personhood.” (1)
